    Vikki Tobak 

    Vikki is a journalist and independent curator. She currently writes about arts and social justice, visual culture and serves as a consultant and project manager for creatives.


    Vikki began her career as a culture writer at Paper Magazine in NYC covering music, art and sub-cultures and served as a television network news producer and reporter covering technology, global politics and economy for CNN, Bloomberg News, TechTV, CBS MarketWatch and other leading media organizations.


    Her writing has been published in Complex, Mass Appeal, Narrative.ly, DJ Times, Ego Trip Magazine, I-D Magazine, Dazed and Confused, The Detroit News, Eyes Towards The Dove and Vibe Magazine. She is a former producer and columnist for CBS Marketwatch covering media and innovation. Her weekly series Contact High Project on Mass Appeal tells the story of hip hop photography and contact sheets.


    Vikki is the founding curator of FotoDC's FotoFilm program which champions photography, documentary aesthetics and the moving image. She also served as a commissioner for the Palo Alto Public Art Commission in Silicon Valley.

    Vikki serves on the Board of Trustees for The Washington Project For The Arts as well as The Lab, a leading arts organization for emerging artists in San Francisco. She is a member of ArtTable, dedicated to advancing women’s leadership in the arts.
